Board President Carlos Graham addresses the crowd.

CMFCAA's board, the Jefferson City Chamber, and President/Founder DeAnna Alonso cut the ribbon at our new location.

With anticipation and excitement, we officially opened our new Jefferson City location at 1704 Christy Court to the public on Aug. 17. This marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication.

What does this mean to you? It means that you — our foster, adoptive, and kinship families — have a place where you're welcome. You can shop for free at The Trunk for clothing and other items, use our visitation room, let the kids play on our enclosed and accessible playground, or just do a load of laundry or take a shower. We're open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and we want to see you here!

President/Founder DeAnna Alonso, the driving force behind this venture, expressed gratitude for the support of the community and shared the vision that has led to CMFCAA's explosive growth.

As the countdown began, the crowd joined in, and a cheer erupted as the ribbon fell to the ground. It was a symbolic moment, signifying the removal of barriers and the birth of something new and exciting.

Once inside, visitors were greeted by a beautifully designed space that reflected the passion and commitment to the Central Missouri youth and families. Guests marveled at the attention to detail and the warm, inviting atmosphere.

Big gift from a big heart

Sometimes it is not what you give but the heart behind it. When a family stopped by our Missouri State Fair booth in Sedalia, one of the boys said he loves foster care and he was in foster care. The child reached into his pocket and pulled out a quarter. He said, "This is all I have, but I love you guys and want to support you." His grandpa said he adopted both boys and was thankful for the great work we do!

Children in care often need someone to be a hero — to take them in and show love and compassion they otherwise may not have had. To those who step up to foster or adopt, we do everything we can to support you. It takes a community of heroes just like you to be able to provide that support. Please consider joining our monthly giving program and being a hero for these children so often overlooked. Thank you and we look forward to the wonderful year we will have in 2023!

$12 for 12 months, monthly giving levels
