Shout out to the "second moms" everywhere |

A kinship guardian whom we serve recently shared with us a touching story. The girl in her care wrote a school assignment based on who they admire most. "The person I admire most is my second mom," the child wrote. "She has many admirable qualities, the top three are probably open-mindedness, hard work, and dependability. Open-mindedness is one of her top qualities because even in a situation that isn't necessarily normal for her or she isn't used to, she is still understanding and tries to help instead of judging the people involved. She is the most hardworking person I know. She is always doing something from working her actual job, helping with farm work, raising kids, and doing anything she can to help make others' lives easier. She shows dependability by always being there no matter what you need or what she is doing. These are the reasons I admire my second mom more than anyone." |
