Raise a glass for CMFCAA!

We held a Cocktails & Conversations event to meet members of the Boonville community to discuss who we are and what we do for the children in the area. We shared food, drink, and good conversation at Cooper's Ridge Event Venue in Boonville. Thanks to Andrea Lyn Events and First State Community Bank for making this event possible.

The new adoption program bringing joy to children with monogrammed bags

Our new adoption program delivers backpacks to children who have been adopted. It was our pleasure to deliver this backpack to this amazing little boy. We are excited to share this celebration with families.

These backpacks are provided by Jockey and are monogrammed with the initials of the child. They provide information about the resources available for the family after the adoption takes place.

Shout out to the "second moms" everywhere

A kinship guardian whom we serve recently shared with us a touching story. The girl in her care wrote a school assignment based on who they admire most. "The person I admire most is my second mom," the child wrote. "She has many admirable qualities, the top three are probably open-mindedness, hard work, and dependability. Open-mindedness is one of her top qualities because even in a situation that isn't necessarily normal for her or she isn't used to, she is still understanding and tries to help instead of judging the people involved. She is the most hardworking person I know. She is always doing something from working her actual job, helping with farm work, raising kids, and doing anything she can to help make others' lives easier. She shows dependability by always being there no matter what you need or what she is doing. These are the reasons I admire my second mom more than anyone."

With the kinship team, a "gourd" time was had

We had the pleasure of decorating and conversing with the kinship families in our pumpkin and mum giveaway. This event occurred at all of our offices: Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla, and Osage Beach, and several families participated in the free pumpkins and mums.

Volunteers creating a trail
The finished mural

A mural to honor the past and a trail moving forward

The Jefferson City community supported our organization and United Way of Central Missouri for the United Way Days of Caring. Veterans United Insurance, Central Bank, and Russellville High School cleared a nature trail, painted The Trunk storage container, built furniture, and did some landscaping. They did the work at what will soon be our new location behind the CMMP Surgical Center on Christy Drive. Thank you for your time and commitment to the children of mid-Missouri!
