| | | | | 30 Days to Family® Reunites a Father and Son! | | Last month, 30 Days to Family© Supervisor, Tamara Fish, had the opportunity to help reunite a father and son. The call for help came in at 10:00am and by 3:30pm the same day Tamara and the young man were on a flight to reunite the two. Preventing children from lingering in foster care not only helps reduce the trauma, it also helps those familial bonds remain strong. We love reuniting family and loved ones! | | | | | | | We have many exciting opportunities coming up this Spring and Summer! CMFCAA has a ton of fun Odyssey Events coming up! If you would like to help us out with these 4-hour events for foster, adoptive, and kinship kids, go ahead and create a volunteer profile today! One of our exciting volunteer opportunities for this summer is at the Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton, Missouri. Volunteers will work at the concession stand during concerts over the summer. Volunteers must be 21+ and ServSafe certified. If you are interested in volunteering and are not ServSafe certified, we can help you get certified. CMFCAA will receive $12 an hour per volunteer plus tips! All proceeds will help us serve foster, adoptive, and kinship children in our community! We are looking for some volunteers to help us with the Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout Treasure Hunt Event. This opportunity will give you the chance to spend a day on the beach of Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill burying treasure chests in the sand, helping with ticket sales and registration, and handing out prizes after the treasure has been found! We even need some artistic volunteers to help us with designing our treasure maps! If you are interested in interning or volunteering with us, click the link below to create your volunteer profile! | | | | | | | 30 Days to Family® Attends Proclamation On April 8, 2022, 30 Days to Family© was honored to attend the Mayor's Proclamation announcing that April is now officially Child Abuse Prevention Month in the state of Missouri! CMFCAA is so proud of our team and our faithful community members who are stepping up to advocate for children and families. | | | | | On April 12th, 2022, the 30 Days to Family © team was honored to help paint and redecorate the Warrenton Children’s Division visitation room so children and families can have a nice place to meet and spend time with eachother. | | | | | | | | Direct Services Odyssey Event We held an Odyssey Event on April 23rd at Bennett Spring State Park. Holly at the nature center greeted us with information about the park. The children enjoyed learning from Todd about the Dickerson Park Zoo. Did you know that there are 13 plates on every turtle shell?! Don’t worry, we didn’t take Todd’s word for it. We counted on every example shell there. Did you know there are about 6,000 types of snakes in the world? We met two: Bucky the bull snake and Mimic the red milk snake. After learning from both Holly and Todd, we enjoyed a picnic, a hike, a walk down by the river, and the playground. It was a beautiful day and we are so happy to have been able to share with our kids and families! | | | | | | | Family Development Department The Family Development team successfully trained another group in the STARS Training. Read one of the graduate's testimonial about the training below. "We learned so much in class with Bri and Teresa that will help us throughout our journey to foster and adopt. We learned about the ways that we can help support the children who enter our homes, as well as how to support each other! We love the way that Bri and Teresa engaged our class frequently and provided support. When discussing things that were difficult, they always provided support and guidance to bring us back to our safe reality. We have learned how to be better parents to every child who enters our home whether they be our natural children, foster children or adoptive children." ~Elizabeth Wainscott | | | | | | | Community Connections Youth Project® Our young people need support and strong advocates who will help them as they grow into adulthood.
