Happy New Year from CMFCAA!

Pajamas and smiles spread warmth in this loving home

Recently a client was directed to us by a Children’s Division worker who had previously met the children. The family welcomed three grandchildren into their home. Quickly realizing they would need new car seats, clothes, beds, and other essential items, they were thankful they connected with us. We provided Begin Again Backpacks and car seats. We were able to help them get beds and other items. The family is truly grateful. One family member, Elizabeth P., texted:

“We can't express our gratitude enough! I was in tears today and the kids were ecstatic! They loved their backpacks and all the goodies inside! They couldn't even wait to take a shower and get in their jammies this evening. 🥰

The gift cards were such a wonderful surprise and will definitely be put to great use!

I'm so thankful that I was pointed in the direction to call you!

Once again, Joyce... From the bottom of my heart and theirs THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! ❤️

The reason for what we do

On Dec. 14, 2022, the entire EFF team — Tamara, April, Jaime, and Tim — traveled to Nevada, Missouri to meet a 16-year-old client, Dee, at Heartland.  This became a visit that affected everyone greatly on our team immensely.  After a pleasant visit with this shy, bright, and reserved young lady, a team member asked, "If you could have anything for Christmas, what would it be?" Dee did not ask about electronics, clothes, or any of the things one might expect from a teenage girl.  No, without missing a beat, Dee replied, "A family." Amongst the hustle and bustle of the end-of-the-year tasks, this simple, heartfelt (and heartbreaking) statement from a lonely girl should serve to motivate us all and remind us to be ever-focused on the task at hand: a forever home for the child.

One Simple wish where PS5 was granted to a child

A wish granted and a season of hope given

We are getting many messages from individuals who granted Christmas wishes to the children we serve. This was a note we received from one:

"Hi A, my name is Sydney. I'm a college student studying biology. I was originally saving up this money to buy myself a gaming system, but when I saw your wish, I realized that it would be much better spent on one for you. I also struggle with mental illness, so I know how hard it can be. I hope you enjoy this and know that you're not alone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

$12 for 12 months, monthly giving levels

Our end-of-the-year giving campaign did not meet the goal of $15,000, for we only raised $4,240 in our CoMoGives campaign. CMFCAA is here throughout the year for kids and families. Being mainly donation based we need heroes like you to be able to help these children in need. Please consider, joining our monthly giving program and being a hero for these children so often overlooked. Thank you and we look forward to the wonderful year we will have in 2023!
