Lots of love from CMFCAA!

One of the most requests we get isn't for beds or backpacks. It's for support. We are here to help! We have several options for support groups to better serve the foster families in our 24 counties.

The first option, Real Talk, Real Support, is a weekly virtual meeting every Wednesday at noon. It is a relaxed setting where you can share issues and troubles you are having in a judgment-free zone. To register to click here.

We also have a Facebook support group where you can raise topics and have discussions with other foster, adoptive, and kinship families. The link for that is here.

Our offices are also having monthly in-person psycho-educational classes that address seven common issues caregivers and children in care face. As outlined in the book The Seven Core Issues in Adoption and Permanency, these issues are Loss, Rejection, Shame/Guilt, Grief, Identity, Intimacy, and Control/Mastery. The book expands this to include adoption and all forms of permanency: adoption, foster care, and kinship care. To register, email Lynn Burnside.
