United Way Willy Wonka Hat

Hats off to the United Way hat contest

"So shines a good deed." Check out our entry in the United Way's hat contest. Together we can change our community -- and the world. We are proud to partner with United Way of Central Missouri and spread awareness about how you too can change the world. "There's nothing to it."

Lions, tigers, and Legos, oh my!

Our respite team recently treated kids to two special field trips. At the St. Louis Zoo, they were able to explore and see animals and bond with others. We also went to Legoland in Kansas City, where the youths made memories to last a lifetime. To sign up for upcoming Odyssey events click the button below.

Back-to-school care packs

Back to school can be a hard time for any parent, but especially for those in foster, adoptive, or kinship care. All of the change and newness can be triggering for some. The last thing a caregiver needs to worry about is school supplies, so we provide back-to-school care packs for our families. Opening the door for the future of Missouri's youth

Pictured here is Community Connections Youth Project® client Carmella as she opens the door to her first apartment. Carmella, a young lady with a good job and a brain for business, was referred to CCYP® in January. Carmella appeared to be having a string of bad luck: Her car was stolen, she had been kicked out of her home, and was bouncing around from hotel to hotel. As soon as we met her we could tell that she had amazing potential but needed just a little bit of help to find her way. After months of hard work and a few late nights, CCYP® was able to bridge the gap and get her into a beautiful three-bedroom home with 13 acres of land just outside of Columbia. Carmella is a shining example of getting back what you put into the program. She was a pleasure to work with and knows that CCYP will be there for her no matter what life throws her way.

"Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without."

The volunteer department listened to Confucius when we were given the opportunity to partner with the Ozarks Amphitheater.  There are still opportunities here and at the Jefferson City Amphitheater if you wish to attend some great shows like Jamey Johnson, Foreigner, Darius Rucker, and Cody Johnson. You get in free to work concessions, which helps us raise funds for foster, adoptive, and kinship families across mid-Missouri. Here are the upcoming concerts:

Jamey Johnson—August 19th

Foreigner—September 3rd

Darius Rucker—September 10th

Cody Johnson—September 17th.
